Swimming & Spas

Are you ready to dive into the ultimate alpine holiday experience? Look no further than La Plagne, the picturesque resort nestled in the heart of the French Alps. While this stunning destination is renowned for its world-class skiing and snowboarding, it also offers a hidden gem for water lovers – a variety of sensational swimming pools. Whether you’re seeking a refreshing dip after an exhilarating day on the slopes or simply want to relax and soak up the breathtaking mountain views, La Plagne swimming pools will have the perfect one for you. From heated indoor pools with spa facilities to dazzling outdoor pools surrounded by snow-capped peaks, this resort has it all.

There are four options in La Plagne:

  • The Espace Paradisio in Montchavin-les Coches, an aqua-leisure complex with a spa area and indoor and outdoor pools (more info)
  • Magic Pool in Plagne Bellecôte, with an outdoor pool heated to 30° in the winter (more info)
  • Deep Nature Spa in Belle Plagne, is more of a spa and relaxation experience than a public swimming pool and has separate areas for families and adults only (more info)
  • Champagny-en-Vanoise swimming pool has a sliding roof so it can stay open all year round and a spa area that is part of the complex (more info)

Don’t forget your swimsuit, towel, and any other swimming accessories you may need. For men and boys, make sure you have swimming trunks and not swim shorts as in France it is the rule for male swimmers to wear swimming trunks at all times. Unfortunately there is no public swimming pool in Montalbert.

In Summer you can also swim in the Versants d’Aime leisure park (also known as Macot lake). It offers a range of leisure and sports activities: free supervised swimming, a cycle path, rafting on the Isère river, a grass area for picnics and relaxing and a playground for children. Lifeguards are on duty 12 – 6pm in July and August near the sandy beach.

This 1.3 hectare lake in a lovely green setting is the perfect place for a day outing or a short stop. It is just next to the “green” trail that runs from Aime to Bourg Saint Maurice which is very popular with cyclists and skaters. The grassy areas around the lake are also set up for different activities: a play area for kids, sports (volleyball, basketball, petanque), barbecues, picnic tables , water walking balls…

The site has been awarded the “Pavillon Bleu” label for its excellent environmental quality .

The 3 Saveurs restaurant in the park has a shady terrace on the edge of the lake (more info).
