We are the Collinson’s, Simon and Kate – owners of Chalet le Col. We’ve long harboured the dream of owning property in the French Alps and during COVID lockdown made the decision to make our dream become a reality. After two years of searching and endless research trips we finally settled on the authentic French resort of La Plagne Montalbert.

Convivial and traditional, yet purpose built, this lovely village provides access to the huge Paradiski area with over 425km of high altitude. It is less than 2 hours from Geneva and Lyon airports, with Grenoble and Chambery providing alternative closer flight options, and is also connected by the snow train into Aime at the bottom of the mountain.

Combine that with fabulous mountain restaurants at great value (by ski resort standards), plus close proximity to other mega resorts such as Val d’Isere-Tignes and Les 3 Vallees, and you can quickly see why Montalbert won our hearts.

With over 30 years of skiing experience in resorts all over the world, we spotted one major gap in the market for accommodation, and this is a problem we’re aiming to solve with our Mountain Suite collection: high quality and modern ski in-ski out apartment but at an affordable price. We found that so many hotels and self catering apartments were dated, poorly designed and not in keeping with the lifestyle of the modern day family, yet the abundance of high-end exclusive accommodation was beyond the affordability of the average person.

Chalet le Col’s mountain suite in Montalbert is the first of it’s kind and as well as providing an amazing holiday home we are excited to welcome couples and families to share the spirit of the mountain.
